SAP Business One 9.2

Take a look at whats under the hood in SAP Business One 9.2 PL4

As many of you are aware, one of the advantages of being current on your SAP Business One annual maintenance is that you automatically get access to the very latest features as they are released by SAP and you are ready to adopt them in your business.

These new features are bundled together in what are known as patches and the latest patch release for SAP Business One Version 9.2 is PL 4.

What we would like to do in this blog post is not only explain a couple of these new features to you but we’ve also put together a number of videos which are embedded in this blog post for you – as the saying goes a picture speaks 1000 words so the videos should be even better at explaining the new functionality.

There are three main areas that we want to talk about in this blog post.

The first of these is the new SAP Business One Customer 360 dashboard.

If you are in a customer facing role, you will know one of those frustrating things that you can be faced with is having a customer asking you questions and not having access to the information to answer those questions. Well, with the new SAP Business One Customer 360 dashboard you can have access to almost every piece of information that is stored in your SAP system that relates to your customer whether it’s information about orders, information about accounts, information about sales opportunities or information about customer address information telephone numbers and so on.

What this means, is that you can quickly and easily get a full picture of a customer’s status and of course with SAP HANA driving this functionality the results are almost instantaneous.

Let’s take a look at that new functionality in the first of our videos.

Boost your sales with recommendations

The second new feature that is part of PL 4 is something that you would normally only expect to find in a large enterprise solution.

When you think of ways that you can boost your sales revenue one of the most common areas that comes to mind is being able to predict the products that your existing customers are most likely to buy and suggest those to them – the easiest way to do that is by analysing what they bought in the past.

In addition, you would also want to look at the buying habits of other customers, analyse what they have purchased and use that information to suggest products for the current customer you are talking to If they purchase the same product.
This is exactly what the new recommendations feature in SAP Business One 9.2 PL 4 helps you to do. Take a look at this video to see it in action and bear in mind that the capability is driven by the power of SAP HANA so you’ll need to be running SAP Business One 9.2 version for HANA to take advantage of this functionality.

Time to talk tech…

The final feature that I’d like to take you through this one is a little bit more technical and enhances the capabilities that you’re no doubt already familiar with in the customisation tools of SAP business one and that is user-defined tables.
When you’re creating a user-defined table and you want to automatically have a unique record number created, you normally would have to write some code to track and maintain the current number and the next available number.
With this new feature in SAP Business One 9.2 that I’ll show you in the next video you no longer have to do that

So that completes a quick look at SAP Business One 9.2 patch level 4. I hope you found it helpful and of course if there are additional areas of SAP Business One you would like explained in more detail please feel free to reach out to any one of the Leverage team with your suggestions and we’ll do our best to cover it in a future blog and or video.
